NutraceuticsRx offers the highest quality Siberian Rhodiola Rosea Root
Extract on the market today.
Chemical constituents:
Rhodiola rosea contains many bioactive compounds, including:
flavonoids, amino acids, polysaccharides and others. The most bioactive
components in Rhodiola rosea are a group of glucosides of cinnamyl
alcohol, primarily rosin, rosavin and rosarin [1]. Another compound, salidroside
is also considered to be valued for bioactivity, and is widely used as a
reference standard for the extract. According to the Russian pharmacopoeia, the
raw Rhodiola rosea must contain a minimum of 0.8% salidroside. There
is a similarity of chemical structures between salidroside and syringin
(eleutheroside B) isolated from Eleutherococcus senticosus.
Pharmacology and clinicals: In Tibet, Rhodiola rosea
is regarded as plateau ginseng. It has stimulative and adaptogenic action to
improve physical and mental work ability; to increase attention span and memory;
to mitigate stress and to increase resistance to the unfavorable effects of
various chemical, physical or biological factors [2]. A Former Soviet Union
military institute has found Rhodiola rosea to be a strengthening tonic
for astronauts in stressful conditions. Research has also confirmed Rhodiola's
antitumor activity, and its ability to inhibit tumor metastasis.
Analytical specifications: NutraceuticsRx Siberian Rhodiola
Rosea extract is characterized to
contain more than 3% rosavins (rosavin, rosarin and rosin) and 1% salidroside,
