The Native Indians used Saw Palmetto berries for nocturia, enuresis, impotence, atrophy of the testes, inflammation of the prostate, low libido in men, infertility, painful periods, and problems with lactation for women. Saw Palmetto has other traditional uses such as tonic and expectorant for mucous membranes such as the bronchial tubes.

Saw palmetto is as effective as drugs for BPH, but lacks the side effects.
